Since the weather has been cold lately, tulip grower Brent Roozen with RoozenGaarde says the tulips are in peak bloom for the next 10 days. “We’re looking at the latest bloom we’ve had in the history of growing tulips. Right now, we’re at the end of April. We’re anticipating a weeks worth of blooms into May over the next 10 days. We’re going to have the most color we’ve ever had,” Roozen said.
There are over 200 different varieties of tulips in the RoozenGaarde fields. Pinks and yellows are the most popular at the moment, but it all depends on what’s blooming that day. Since it’s been a late bloom, the bloom has progressed significantly with no sign of slowing down just yet.
