A group of mums who lost their children to brain tumours have done a skydive in memory of their children.

Data from the National Cancer Research Institute also shows that brain tumour research still represents just 1% of the national spend on cancer. “Prior to that he'd been absolutely our healthiest middle child. Life was perfect, but hectic and then it feels like it was snatched away in an instant. “We are devastated, and our lives will never, ever be the same again. We are living every parent's worst fear.”“The NHS is obviously amazing, but sadly, we’re not advanced in the UK in the area of brain tumours and some cancers. We were disadvantaged being in the UK, so we started fundraising to be able to take George to Germany for immunotherapy.

“Our children wanted to live. They had things they wanted to do, plans for the future. It's horrific to be told that we should just give up. We weren't prepared to do that.”Niki O’Dea-Patel with her son Shay“Shay hadn’t experienced any symptoms prior to having a seizure. He had never had a seizure before.“He was living a completely normal life and in that instant our world just completely changed.

“We were told it would either be a difficult journey or an extremely difficult journey. They didn't expect that he would even survive radiotherapy, but certainly would unlikely survive a year.”
