Alan Shearer believes Luton Town have high hopes of securing survival after Nottingham Forest were hit with a four-point deduction on Monday.
For promoted teams that is reduced, meaning Forest were restricted to losses of £61m for the last three campaigns - £13m for the two seasons in the Championship prior to promotion, plus £35m last season. Having been docked more than three points, Forest have slipped into the relegation zone and into 18th place while Luton are now 17th - only one point ahead.
However, the Toffees have been charged a second time but they will have to wait a little longer to discover their punishment. Luton’s plight has been a subject of recent episodes of The Rest is Football, with Shearer claiming that their late goal against Forest on Saturday 'could be a huge point for them.'
