Nottinghamshire has so many amazing places to visit this Easter
As we approach Easter many of us will be planning how to spend our long weekend - outside of gorging on chocolate eggs. Nottinghamshire is home to many fantastic walks that can help burn off some of the excessive quantities of chocolate we're bound to consume over the four-day weekend.
There are plenty of different trails available at Sherwood Forest including the Giants Trail where kids can count how many ancient trees they can find. Another walk includes the beautiful heathland at Budby South Forest which is a little bit further up the path. A full list of trails can be found at the visitor's centre.
The canal walk has several places you can hop off at, making it perfect for families with younger children. At the midway point, there is a clear path that leads to Sainsbury's at Castle Marina retail park where you can divert for ice cream before taking a second to enjoy the canal boats go past. Attenborough Nature Reserve The Attenborough Nature Reserve has been around since 1966 after it was opened by who it was named after - Sir David Attenborough. The park is one of the most popular places to go for a walk in Nottingham and is only a tram ride away from the city centre.
