Read the letters to the editor for Sept. 15.
Rather than simply canceling student loan debt, officials should reduce the cost of higher education and trade schools, boosting the workforce and making school more accessible.The fabric of our once great country is frayed and falling apart. We are at a crossroads and have some reckoning to do. Never before have I witnessed such stark division.
To have a great amount of power requires a great amount of responsibility and restraint; otherwise, someone will get hurt. The former president abused his power and people got hurt. Some died. This man should never be allowed to run for any office ever again. Shame on him.The only way out of this and back to normalcy is at the ballot box. Those of us who do not believe the Big Lie need to be united and vigilant and vote for candidates who care about democracy.
Chris Tomlinson’s column cleared up something I never understood: How I paid $100 a semester in tuition and fees at the University of Texas at Austin in 1968 and now it is thousands of dollars for the same program.
