The obvious end to this story is for the Express-News to give the now-local strip its place in the Sunday comics
section. Just please don’t do anything to “Doonesbury,” “Macanudo” or “Prince Valiant” to make space.Gary Trudeau and his “Doonesbury” in Sunday’s cartoon section said it all about Texas’ stupid gun laws. An 18-year-old can’t buy a beer, but he can buy an assault rifle. It is time we get rid of Gov. Greg Abbott and the Republican Legislature, and elect responsible lawmakers who will enact strict gun control legislation before we have another mass shooting.To those who have always scoffed at warnings of climate change for the past few decades, calling it “just weather,” I hope you’re enjoying the current “weather.” And just think, it’s only July.
If it weren’t for the fact that wind and solar now provide over 30 percent of Texas’ energy, we would have had blackouts already. But, of course, our governor could never bring himself to admit that.I don’t know who adds the daily predictions to the “San Antonio 5-Day Forecast,” but they are brilliant. Each day’s prognostication is spot on! Especially for July 5 and this past Monday .
