Sam Dixon is a chef at Northcote under the tutelage of Lisa Goodwin-Allen
"I just love how food brings everyone together", says Sam Dixon without hesitation when asked why he originally took up cooking. The 23-year-old has graduated from his family kitchen, to becoming the nation's best young chef.
"It was an absolute shock to win," Sam told LancsLive. "Lisa told me don't worry about the result, you've got this far. I'm just about getting to grips with it now and I would love to enter more competitions." He impressed the panel of judges, which included Lisa and some of the world’s leading Michelin Star chefs, such as James Knappett, Chantelle Nicholson, Chet Sharma and Adam Handling. Sam's mentor was especially impressed to see him come through a dark time in his life and produce award-wing cooking when it mattered.
