The former Aston Villa striker explained to talkSPORT:"I went out to watch the game last night in a bar in London. Sitting with a few of my friends watching it, supporting the English team in Manchester City."Whenever Real Madrid scored, 99 per cent of the bar, there could've been about 1000 people in the bar, jumped up celebrating for Real Madrid. It baffles me."I said I'm supporting the English team."Really disappointing to me. Strange.
City and Liverpool are locked in an intense Premier League title battle and Pep Guardiola's side are one point clear with four games to go. They've also met in the FA Cup this campaign, with Liverpool running out 3-2 winners at Wembley last month.Both sides are incredible and many were hoping to see them square off one final time this season for European football's ultimate prize.It wasn't to be however and it'll now be Madrid looking for their 14th major European honour.
They've faced Liverpool twice in the final previously, winning in 3-1 in 2018 while losing 1-0 in 1981.
