Nottingham City Council staff accessed details relating to the Nottingham attacks without legitimate reason. Three community protection service workers looked at police information about the case, in which students Grace O'Malley-Kumar and Barnaby Webber and school caretaker Ian Coates were killed.
Despite being police-vetted council officers, the individuals looked at the details without a legitimate policing purpose. The revelation comes after it emerged several police officers had accessed information about the attacks, which were carried out by Valdo Calocane on June 13, without good reason. This included a special constable who was dismissed after viewing body-worn video footage of the two students being treated by medics on Ilkeston Road.
Emma Webber, mum of Barnaby, said police had previously made families aware of the breaches, but added past dealings with the force meant they "do not trust the accuracy of any information provided third hand or have any faith in the leadership of Nottinghamshire Police force".
