A new trailer for the Yellowjackets finale shows the main characters arriving at their high school reunion, but not before disposing of a dead body. The horror mystery series premiered on Showtime in November to rave reviews. Created by husband and wife team Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets explores the fates of stranded plane crash survivors in two distinct timelines.
Things continue to escalate for the adult survivors in episode 9, titled “Doomcoming.” After weeks of speculation concerning Adam’s true identity, Yellowjackets plunges a knife into any theories that the character would stick around. Shauna also realizes that her husband, Jeff , is the blackmailer, making Adam’s death all the more tragic.
As tensions mount in the 1996 timeline, the finale’s real climax promises to be the high school reunion. If the probing eyes of the reunion attendees are any indication, the surviving Yellowjackets are still a mystery, or even a threat, to their classmates. Given the series’ myriad twists and turns, one can’t rule out a surprise appearance at the reunion, such as another survivor. While it is implied that Jackie is dead, the fates of Van and Lottie are still unknown.
