New York Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge is set to become a free agent following the 2022 MLB season.
At the start of spring training, Judge set drop-dead point of Opening Day on April 7 as when he’d stop talking about a potential deal with the Yankees. On Saturday, he backed off that a bit.
Asked if that deadline was firm, he said, “I’m pretty sure,” but that if talks were still happening beyond it, he wouldn’t exactly run to tell reporters. ...“I want to be here,” Judge said. “Lock that up and get a chance to play here for quite a few more years. That would be great. If it happens, it happens. If it doesn’t, I’m not too worried.”
