This is the first workplace fatality reported in 2023.
The number of workplace fatalities in 2022 exceeded the 37 deaths in the whole of 2021.
In response to the higher rate of workplace fatalities, MOM had earlier called for a six-month period of heightened safety from Sep 1, 2022 to Feb 28, 2023.to review safety procedures, as part of the measures introduced under the heightened safety period.
