Up to 200 players will get their chance to play on the park as part of a fundraiser.
Up to 200 players will grace the hallowed turf during all-day action as games take place over a 10-hour stretch. The event is a fundraiser for the United women's and girls' section and will see fun for all the family with a range of attractions on offer.
The day kicks off at 10am and builds towards a 7pm clash between the United women's first team and a line-up of Ayr United staff - including boss Scott Brown, assistant manager Steven Whittaker, and chairman David Smith. Entry to the entire day is free for all. Clare Docherty, head of the United women's and girls' section, told the Ayrshire Post: "We've managed to pull things together for this really quickly and get a lot organised for everyone who is coming along. It should be a fantastic day with all the action on the pitch and everything from the bouncy castle to face painting, a fire engine and outdoor games. Cameron's Bar will be open all day from 12 noon and there will be hot food sold between 12-2.
"For most of the girls, Sunday will be their first time playing on the Somerset pitch and it's a really big day in that sense. We're really looking forward to having as many people along as possible and all the girls have been busy fundraising, which is great. "It will all build to the game at 7pm which involves the staff team with the likes of Scott Brown, Steven Whittaker, Davie Smith and Fraser MacIntyre. Graeme Mathie is going to play in goals and has promised to donate £50 for every goal he concedes against the women's team, so here's hoping we stick a few by him!"
