, ultimately decided to share her story because she wanted to connect with other women like her. "I posted the thread because Ithere are women out there who have the same struggle with confidence and body image issues as me, so I thought maybe if I post this we can all uplift and support each other," she tellsover email. "I didn’t expect this type of response, but I've gotten amazing feedback and there are so many beautiful women who responded.
The thread has since amassed 157,000 likes, 19,000 retweets, and a host of responses from folks either sharing their own experiences with weight gain, or applauding Rain for her vulnerability. "Of course there are the "fat shamers" out there but I choose to only pay attention to the positive that has been put out," says Rain in regards to the feedback she's received. "I learned to love my body, with the weight or without the weight, and I’ll always accept who I am.
Cheers to Rain for spreading such an inspiring message about the importance of self-love and acceptance. We couldn't be more here for it.
