A mum diagnosed with breast cancer has won a huge amount of money as she undergoes chemotherapy treatment.
In fact, the lottery’s cheque reveal at The Bowdon Rooms on Saturday took place at the very same venue where the pair held their wedding reception 14-years-ago. “It feels good being back here and seeing it again,” Victoria said of the venue. “We got married in the church just round the corner.” Elsewhere, primary school teacher Jon Hammond, 42, also bagged £9,211 just three months after first signing up to the Postcode Lottery. His mum Sandra, 67, also won the same cash prize. Jon said it was 'amazing' for them to both win at the same time.
The mum-of-one said youth charity Manchester’s Got Talent and food bank Keeping It Real 24/7 will get the bulk of her £9,211 windfall. The office manager and bookkeeper said: “I’m very grateful for this. I’ll give my sister something. But my main aim is to help the children of tomorrow.”
