A woman has been warned to stay away from a violent thug who caused her life-threatening internal bleeding. The man, Alex Thompson, brutally attacked his girlfriend after a night out at a pub, leaving her with serious injuries. This is not the first time Thompson has assaulted a woman.
Alex Thompson, 38, almost beat his girlfriend of 14 months to death in a "disgraceful" and cowardly attack after a "pleasant evening" at a pub in Warrington. In the early hours of March 31 of this year, the dad-of-two viciously attacked the woman at around 2am, when she had awoken on the couch where she had been sleeping after a previous argument and decided to join him in bed.
It is not the first time Thompson has attacked a female partner. In 2017 he repeatedly punched another girlfriend in the face, and in 2021 he shoved a woman to the ground, causing injuries. The judge said: "The most serious aggravating factor is your previous convictions for domestic violence. 22 offences, many of these motoring offences, but more recently for disorderly behaviour, for assaulting a police officer, and most importantly two offences of battery in 2017 and 2021 against former partners."
