A woman has been charged after allegedly stealing $175,000 from an assisted living community for senior citizens where she previously worked, Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said.
Campbell was charged last Tuesday. Her alleged co-conspirator and former co-worker, Evan Garaizar, 25, of Barnegat, was charged with forgery on Friday, authorities said. Investigators said over the course of three years, she used the association’s funds to purchase $81,000 of personal items and stole another $94,000 by sending money to third parties using Venmo and later having the funds transferred into her personal bank account, officials said.
