A woman had to resort to wearing wigs after a Schwarzkopf hair mask unexpectedly turned her striking blonde hair blue. Saskia Parsons had hoped to use the treatment to give her locks a bit of a boost back in March 2022. But Saskia, from Renton, East Dunbartonshire, was horrified when she discovered that the five-minute mask had left streaks in different shades of blue throughout her hair.
The product, Live Colour and Care Hair Mask Colour Boost in Icy Pearl, is meant to enhance the colour of blonde hair. However, the 23-year-old, who was extremely short of money at the time, was left needing to don wigs until she could afford home box dyes to correct the issue. Saskia shared shocking photos of her hair mishap to alert other Schwarzkopf customers about what could potentially happen to them. She told the Record at the time: "I regularly dye my hair at home as I'm a skint student, my hair is usually blonde and I know what I'm doing. "I bought the mask as I thought it would be good to boost the colour of my blonde hair. I've used Schwarzkopf home dyes before so I wasn't concerne
