Unripe avocados can be bitter and hard to eat
Avocados are one of those foods that come with a myriad of health benefits from being good for the heart to protecting against eye-related problems.
She shared a video of herself placing an avocado in a brown paper bag with a kiwi and told followers: “Guys, Green Skin + Shepherd Avocado season means I legit need a spreadsheet to keep track of when I’ll have avocados to eat because they take foreeeeeeeever to ripen.“The kiwi fruit releases ethylene gas - a plant hormone that aids the ripening process - and the paper bag traps the gas so the process works faster meaning you’ll have ripe avocados in 24 hours.
Once the slices have frozen they can then be put into freezer bags and stored. When you want to eat them again, you just need to wait for the avocado to thaw out a bit.Gone are the days of a mouldy brown avocado festering at the back of the fridge.
