Woman shot in broad daylight in Lower East Side attack
A woman sitting in her car was randomly shot in the Lower East Side Saturday, police said.
The 28-year-old victim was parked on Orchard Street near Stanton Street just before 7 p.m. when she was struck by the bullet, according to the NYPD.NYPD look for shell casings at the scene.The NYPD did not indicate whether a suspect has been identified.Investigators are on the hunt for a four-door SUV that they believe was the source of the gunshot.
The broad daylight shooting occurred on a busy street home to numerous restaurants and storefronts — including a podcast studio directly in front of where the gunfire erupted.
