Suspect will appear in court tomorrow
A woman has been charged with murder after the remains of a baby boy were found at a Cheshire theme park. The child, called Callum by police officers was discovered at Gulliver's World in Warrington in 1998.
No one knew who he was, or who his mother was - so he was named Callum after the Callands district of the town where he was found. A post-mortem revealed that the baby weighed 7lbs 8oz. "Today, Monday 15 April 2024, police rearrested the 54-year-old woman and the Crown Prosecution Service has now authorised Cheshire Police to charge Joanne Sharkey, of West Derby, in Liverpool with murder. She has been remanded in custody and is set to appear at Warrington Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday 16 April."
