A woman has been charged with murder in a fatal shooting in April in Oakland of a man authorities said she was in a prior relationship with.
OAKLAND — A 38-year-old woman has been charged with murder and other crimes in the fatal April 22 shooting of a man police said she used to be in a relationship with, according to authorities and court records.
She is accused of fatally shooting Akobi Winston, 41, who had addresses in Oakland and San Lorenzo, about 11:30 p.m. April 22 in the 3300 block of MacArthur Boulevard in the Upper Dimond District. According to court documents, investigators were told that “York and Winston were once in a romantic relationship” and the shooting “may have been the result of an unknown domestic dispute.”
