Jacksonville, FL — The WOKV News team brought home 3 awards from the Florida Association of Broadcast Journalists ceremony Saturday. Out of all entries statewide, WOKV’s Steven Ponson was recognized as the best radio anchor in Florida. WOKV News was also honored with 2 wins for best Breaking News and best Weather Reporting for our Hurricane Ian coverage in 2022.April Davis is WOKV’s News Director and Morning Co-anchor of Jacksonville’s Morning News on News 104.5. April joined WOKV in 2023 after more than 20 years as a reporter, anchor and manager at TV and radio stations in Alaska, Alabama, the Carolinas, Colorado, and Georgia.

Texas Corvette Association's 30th annual Open Car Show brings Fiesta to BoerneFiesta made its way to Boerne for its 30th annual Open Car Show on Saturday. The Texas Corvette Association had its line of classic and modern sports cars at the Main Plaza. The event had food and fun activities for families, and people had a chance to meet Corvette racer Doug Fehan. In its 15th year as an official Fiesta event, the show displayed impressive cars for visitors to see and was a benefit for at-risk kids from St. Jude's Ranch for Children in Texas (SCJR) by attending. All proceeds from the car show go to providing services to abused, abandoned or neglected children and families.
