The Spark File helps fire up your creativity. Guests have included Julianne Moore, Sara Bareilles and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Plus they have the most scintillating weekly guests in their “maker-sodes.” Camien and Blackwell chat with artists and makers who are creating great work. In season one alone they had Lin-Manuel Miranda, Julianne Moore and Bart Freundlich, Zachary Quinto, Sara Bareilles, Phillipa Soo, Rodney Evans, Jonathan Groff, Celia Keenan-Bolger, Gavin Creel, Matt Vogel, Brad Montague and Angela Johnson. These artists get real about their creative process, what juices and challenges them.

“At The Spark File, we adamantly believe that every human being is creative by design, by birthright, by the simple fact of being alive,” says Camien who is a Broadway producer, screenwriter, actress and author. She was the long-time VP of Communications for the global theatrical entity,. “Our hope is to help people reconnect with their creative selves and give themselves permission to unleash their creative self-expression, in whatever form that takes.

As Blackwell explains their mission is to inspire people to create, whatever that might mean to them. “Creativity doesn’t have to mean ‘high art’, and being creative doesn’t mean you have to be a *professional* creative,” observes Blackwell who is a Broadway, film and TV actor, and writer. “It just means imagining something, large or small, then taking that spark of inspiration and making it a reality.

For instance, during Women’s History Month, they suggest you can identify a woman who inspires you and make something, to celebrate that person. “Then, SUPER-BONUS: share it with us on social at @thesparkfile, so we can celebrate you, your creativity AND Women’s History!,” says Blackwell. “We can’t wait to see what you create!”

Since March is Women’s History Month, the duo shared their thoughts about women who have inspired them. It’s a chance to celebrate all those who identify as women and girls! Party on, females ! Every year I feel I learn more and more about what I DIDN’T learn in school, and my scope of understanding Women’s influence throughout time has grown exponentially. It makes me feel proud.
