Clint Barton is an Avenger with no superpowers. In “Hawkeye” he emits dad energy.
Marvel’s latest foray in television centers on a character known for wielding a bow and arrow, and for playing second fiddle to colleagues such as Iron Man, Captain America and Hulk. The new TV series, premiering Wednesday, finally puts the spotlight on Clint, but leans into the traits that make Jeremy Renner’s hero kind of…basic. He corrals his children on a holiday trip in New York, sits through a Broadway musical with the family and tries to get some work done before Christmas.
