Is it possible the Yankees are trying to butter Montas up in hopes that he’ll sign a team friendly deal with them for 2024, perhaps one for very low guaranteed money and perks for games pitched or starts?“There is a plan,” Boone said. “He could be in play in some capacity in the Kansas City series. We haven’t made that final decision yet, but it’s good that he’s at least put himself in position to be an option.
