Debuting in 2020 and based on the eponymous novel by Sona Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton, Tiny Pretty Things follows the students at a prestigious ballet school in Chicago as they enter the cut-throat world of professional dance.
Unfortunately, the show was met with middling reviews from critics who praised the impressive dancing but were largely unimpressed by the shallowness of the writing and storytelling . Even though the ending of Tiny Pretty Things season 1 left the door open for more excitement, Netflix ultimately decided that one turn was enough for the dance drama.
He mentioned that he heard the show was watched to completion by "32 million households", though that number hasn't been verified by Netflix or any other third-party source. He goes on to say that Netflix deemed the completion rate to be below what they were looking for, and opted to cancel the series. Netflix has canceled shows like Everything Sucks! for similar reasons, and the completion rate seems to be a metric that is most important to the streamer.
