But as more and more talk about a fourth wave keeps creeping into our daily conversations and news updates, I can’t help but be a little bit excited about the idea of being “locked down” again. As horrible and confusing as it was when COVID hit our communities hard, there were plenty of lovely moments during lockdown that we should look back on fondly. And personally, if they happened to me again, I wouldn’t be that mad about it.

It also meant some extra sleep-in time because you didn’t have to get ready to go anywhere. It was literally bed to desk or couch in seconds. What wasn’t to love about that? After the initial COVID kilos took over my body and I was finally able to manage the constant snacking while at home, being locked down meant that I was able to squeeze a long bush walk into my day. Something I never had time to do when I was working in the office.

Some days it was soccer and other days it was a hit of tennis or hanging out on the swings. It was a daily lesson most families enjoyed and not something that would’ve been done if they were kept in the classroom for a normal term. We were able to tackle projects we kept putting off My veggie patch was built over two days and we all enjoyed getting out in the garden filling it with soil and planting fresh veggies. I know, very wholesome of us. Happy hour didn’t actually have an “hour”
