At least two of the three men were working for a private intelligence firm, named Solace Global, hired by WCK to provide the charity’s staff with protection during humanitarian trips, a security source aware of the situation toldTypically WCK would have insurance, as they do during operations in Ukraine, and if there is an adverse incident, an assistance and response company in the country would respond.
The company has a team of more than 300 security specialists, who are subject to stringent vetting procedures, and have been deployed to provide close security protection and perform evacuation missions in live war zones – including in Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale invasion. The cars were hit as they were leaving an aid warehouse, where the team had been unloading 100 tons of food brought in by sea. The route had been pre agreed with the IDF.analysis suggesting they were struck at different points along a 1.5 mile stretch of a road in the Deir al-Balah area.that survivors of the first attack had tried to take cover in the second car before that too was bombed, before moving to a third which was also hit.
