Memorial High School Principal Jeremy Richardson and South Houston High School assistant football coach Lamont Mayberry have good reasons to be in Williamsport, Pa., to see Pearland play in the Little League World Series.
Jacolby Mayberry plays right field for the Pearland Little League team at the 2022 Little League World Series.When school let out at the end of May, Pasadena Memorial High School Principal Jeremy Richardson never imagined he’d be making a trip to Intercontinental Airport right when the next school year was starting.
Well, here’s August, and Richardson did make an unexpected trip to the airport and Mayberry did hurry out of town for trips to Waco.competing at the world-famous Little League World Series in Williamsport, Pa. “It’s been a fun journey so far,” Jeremy Richardson said before heading to Williamsport to be there for the first game Thursday night. “It’s going to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for them all. Unbelievable.”Ethan, said his dad, had a splendid tournament at the Southwestern Region that Waco hosted.
Mayberry, whose son Jacolby plays right field, has been given permission by Trojans head coach Patrick Longstreet to possibly miss the team’s season opener so he can be in Williamsport.
