Gabby Thomas ran straight for Olympic gold at the Paris 2024 Games—and then straight into the arms of her boyfriend, Spencer McManes.
McManes was in the stands cheering on Thomas as she secured the gold medal in the women’s 200-meter dash on August 6, finishing with a time of 21.83.Thomas previously talked about having an “empowering” support system as she headed into the Olympics. “For me, being surrounded by people that are uplifting and supportive and empowering really fuels me, and it definitely has got me to where I am today,” the sprinter told NBC.
He was a student at Yale University, where he also played on the school’s football team as a quarterback. He ultimately graduated with a degree in political science and government.He supported Gabby at the Paris 2024 Olympics.McManes was in the crowd roaring for Thomas as she crossed the finish line in the women’s 200-meter final on August 6. Afterward, she met him in the bleachers, where the two shared a hug and took a quick selfie.His mom is a fan of Gabby.
