White House PressSec Karine Jean-Pierre concluded her 'topper' at Wednesday's press briefing by seeking to preempt questions about Hunter Biden's Wednesday plea hearing in federal court.

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre concluded her"topper" at Wednesday's press briefing by seeking to preempt questions about Hunter Biden's Wednesday plea hearing in federal court.

Biden eventually pleaded not guilty to two federal tax charges. He was expected to plead guilty, yet his plea deal fell apart during the Wednesday hearing.Judge Maryellen Noreika, a Trump-appointed judge who is hearing the case, temporarily put the court into recess while Biden's deal was renegotiated to prevent him from receiving immunity from any potential future charges that could stem from the federal government's ongoing investigation into his business dealings.

Jean-Pierre routinely does not respond to questions about President Joe Biden's son, yet Wednesday, she opted to address the issue before fielding questions from reporters. "Hunter Biden is a private citizen, and this was a personal matter for him. As we have said, the president and the first lady, they love their son and they support him as he continues to rebuild his life," she stated."This case was handled independently, as all of you know, by the Justice Department, under the leadership of a prosecutor appointed by the former president, President Trump.

"So for anything further, as you know, and we've been very consistent from here, I refer you to the Department of Justice and to Hunter's representatives," Jean-Pierre concluded. You can watch Wednesday's briefing in full below.
