Reddit gives its verdict on which areas offer the best vantage point of the city
With rolling hills, historic parks and tranquil lakes as well as the bright lights of the big city, Greater Manchester is not short on stunning views. And now, social media has given its verdict on the best vistas in the city.
Werneth Low, Stockport's Lyme Park and Rivington Pike, which sits just outside of Bolton, were among the most mentioned areas for stunning views both night and day. Hartshead Pike in Tameside and Heaton Hall, situated in Heaton Park were also top spots.Mancunians on Reddit also suggested a number of other public roads or car parks that offered stunning vantage points, including Colliers Row Road in Horwich and Scout Road in Bolton.
@MoxTheOxe said: "Rivington Pike's view is amazing. If you take the right roads you can even see further afield", while @ZangetsuAK17 commented: "Hartshead Pike for me."Also giving their verdict, user @kingy963 commented: "Horwich along Colliers Row Road/Scout Road. If you drive along Chorley Old Road and take the left by the Bob's Smithy Inn, follow the road and it’ll take you up and around. There’s a few car parks you can pull into.
