A number of memorial events are set to be held across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire to mark Remembrance Sunday.
Hundreds of people are expected to turn out to pay their respects to the fallen as parades take place in towns and villages. The first of the November 12 parades will get underway in Elderslie at 9.45am, with a similar event in Houston at 10am.

The first event is at the war memorial beside Mearns Bowling Club, Ayr Road, Newton Mearns, where a parade will muster by 10.40am. It will then march off from Fairweather Hall at 10.50am to reach the memorial for an 11am service. Tea and coffee will be available afterwards in the hall at St Thomas’ Church and anyone who would like to attend is asked to send an email to paul.o’kane.msp@parliament.scot
