Top Data, which included California-based chain In-N-Out and New York-based chain Shake Shack in their top five for Texas. A&W Restaurants took the crown in both Texas and Oklahoma, according to the list, which was compiled by online consumer insight company Top Data on Thursday.
The list was compiled by combining"GPS tracking data" with a survey of 1,000 Americans on the"largest burger chains," Top Data wrote. GPS tracking data means knowing how many times a given chain has been visited by state residents. The top five chains in Texas, according to the list, are A&W Restaurants, In-N-Out Burger, Steak 'n Shake, Shake Shack and Culver's, respectively. So three Midwestern-based chains, one from California and one from New York to represent Texas.
