While the Conservatives are the largest party in both the Commons and the Lords, the party’s peers are being outnumbered in the Upper House by a combination of Labour, Lib Dem and crossbench peers – those not affiliated with any party. “You saw Labour peers blocking us again, and that’s enormously frustrating. Everyone’s patience on this has run thin, mine certainly has,” he told reporters.
“Then we will work to get flights off so we can built that deterrent because that is the only way to resolve this issue.”
