Now that there’s a modern precedent to what the sport considers offensive to Native Americans, Rob Manfred will either have to go the rest of his tenure explaining why the chop doesn’t match up on the offensiveness scale with “Indians” or Chief Wahoo, all while insisting that Cleveland’s nickname had to be changed.
