Is your relationship meant to be? A deep dive into your astrological chart might have the answer.
Star-crossed lovers: The phrase has made waves through the centuries. Yet the debate stubbornly remains the same: Is it in the stars? Or is in your head? Shakespeare, Chaucer, and Hippocrates all seemed to favor the idea of an unalterable, inescapable, predestined fate between two lovers, a knot tied sternly together by the gods, if you will.
However, as Sir Isaac Newton, the father of physics, once said in defense of astrology to skeptic Edmund Halley, “I have studied the matter. You, sir, have not.” And when Newton speaks, we listen. So, regardless of your set of beliefs, one thing is certain: if you choose to follow the stars—you must do so properly. The typical 12-sign blanket descriptors do a disservice to astrology, only representing a superficial sampling of the very complicated discipline.
According to Brownstone, at its core, astrology revolves around the idea that “we pick up energy from the universe and the planets, which are the intermediaries connecting us to the greater cosmos.” In following with this principle, Brownstone relates this to the concept that the menstrual cycle of a woman can become synced up with the moon. The fact is that “our environment has a physical effect on us,” asserts Brownstone.
In examining romantic relationships, and compatibility, there are quite a few elements in play. Here, Brownstone shares her notes on what to look for and what they mean for you and your lover:Brownstone observes that there is a general compatibility between people who share complementary elements within their sun signs . However, the moon signs, ascendants, and lunar nodes should also be considered.
In conclusion, Brownstone notes, “if you are looking at Astrology 101, you can look at the basic compatibility of the sun, moon, and ascending signs. However, that would be the equivalent of taking a blood test and not fully reading it, or reading it selectively. A doctor would not just look at three things. They have to read the entire panel to draw any conclusions. The truth is that your whole chart needs to be done in order to have any predictive value.
