The Denver Broncos’ brand-new ownership group plans to interview Jim Harbaugh for the team’s vacant head coaching job. Harbaugh simply wants back into the league, according to people who know him well. SandoNFL's Pick Six:
Michigan’s botched attempt to run Philly Special against TCU in the Fiesta Bowl comes to mind. That is why Harbaugh, more than some other head coaches with backgrounds on offense, needs the right coordinator on that side of the ball to carry out his vision.
“Yeah, I think John would cooperate and Jim could get Greg Roman,” a former head coach said. “I think they are ready for Roman to leave. And then John will find out that he was pretty good. If you want to just run the ball, like I’m sure John wants to do, you can’t get a better guy.” There would be great irony in Wilson successfully plotting to escape what he felt was an overly run-oriented scheme in Seattle, only to wind up in a two-back offense implemented by Roman and rooted in the beliefs Harbaugh brought with him from the late Schembechler, his old coach at Michigan.
“I don’t know if anyone could mess with Jim Harbaugh,” the former Harbaugh assistant said. “Obviously, if you don’t have any success, you are a target, but you can’t say s— about Jim. He is not going to get caught up in that stuff. He is bigger than all those things.”
