A major incident unfolded at the major shopping centre in Sydney's eastern suburbs just before 4pm on Saturday afternoon when a knifeman went on a rampage, stabbing eight people - including a child. Five innocent shoppers were killed before the killer - who wore a Kangaroos Australian Rugby League jersey - was shot dead by a female police inspector who went in alone to confront him.Just before 5pm, a witness interrupted a Nine News reporter performing a live cross on the streets and pointed to his brother, saying: 'He's a hero - he saved the baby'.
