Victim Support West Lothian says becoming a volunteer can be extremely rewarding
A charity that supports people who have been the victim of crime needs new volunteers to help provide its vital service.
You can access its services - which are free, independent and confidential - regardless of whether you have reported the crime or not to the police. Stephanie Simpson, co-ordinator for Victim Support West Lothian, said: “We are currently low on volunteer numbers within our West Lothian services. “I volunteer within Livingston Sheriff and High Court. It’s a real privilege to support both victims and witnesses of crime as they give evidence within a court setting.
“As volunteers we are able to support them before they give evidence as well as being with them in court and spending some time with them before they leave.”
