It was a heartwarming reunion at The Bolles School’s pep rally on Wednesday.
Positively JaxNavy Aviation Electronics Chief Petty Officer Patrick Fowler came home from a 5-month-long deployment to surprise his fourth-grade son, Dustin Fowler, at school.
Of course, Dustin didn’t have a clue that his dad was in the building and his face when his father walked through the door proved that point. “I was like, um, wow, I thought this was going to happen in summer break because these are usually a whole lot longer...but yay!” Fowler said.The father and son duo said they are looking forward to spending time together and doing one of their favorite things -- building Legos.Dustin’s mother was happy for many reasons as well.
“Dustin’s also really active in cub scouts, so it’s been a lot with campouts and work and housework. It’s nice to share that load back. I’m really glad he’s home to mow the law again,” Jessica Fowler said. Jessica said of course she’s happy to have him back for other reasons, and the timing is great because now he can enjoy the end-of-year festivities for Dustin’s first year at The Bolles School.
