The system was moving quickly and is expected to head east out of the region by Sunday.
Rain will once again hit parts of Southern California on Saturday, Oct. 15 – and could bring some lightning and hail with it – as a low-pressure system makes its way east across the region, forecasters say.
The storm is expected to begin over the ocean overnight and spread inland, with the chance of small hail, cloud-to-ground lightning and gusty winds, according to National Weather Service Meteorologist Rich Thompson. Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside and San Bernardino counties can all expect to see pockets of rain beginning in the early morning and continuing through the evening. Most of the rain will come Saturday afternoon.
“A low-pressure system off the coastal waters is moving inland and bringing in another shot of moisture that will touch down late and continue through Saturday,” Thompson said. “There will be plenty of chance for showers and thunderstorms.”Here is the estimated rainfall total forecast, mostly Saturday and Saturday night, rainfall will be highly variable in amounts due to showers and thunderstorms
