Peter Seidler's celebration of life will now be held at 11 a.m. Saturday; Some FanFest activities to be held at Monday and Tuesday's exhibitions
An approaching weekend storm is forcing the Padres to cancel Sunday’s FanFest and push up Peter Seidler’s celebration of life on Saturday. The Padres will now honor Siedler at 11 a.m. Saturday. The home plate gate will open to fans at 10 a.m., with seating available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking will be free of charge at neighboring Padres-controlled lots. The ceremony will also be streamed at padres.com.
Tickets in the lower seating bowls remain available for $20 for adults and $10 for kids age 14 and under. With the official FanFest canceled, some of the scheduled features will be sprinkled around the exhibition games. On Monday, gates will open at 3 p.m. to allow fans to explore the renovated Gallagher Square and potentially track down a “golden ball” during Padres batting practice to exchange for a replica jersey of their choice at the team store.
