'It's safe to say come the end of our main there wasn't much left on either of our plates'
When it comes to Chinese food, it doesn't take much to convince me to try somewhere new. I am that person whose TikTok feed is currently filled with the trend of watching people 'plate up their Chinese takeaway', weird I know!
I have to admit, I am one of those people who tends to go between two or three different dishes in the Chinese depending on what I feel like eating, although I'm not adverse to trying other options. Our starters arrived promptly and it was time to dig in. My salt and chilli chicken was the perfect portion for a starter and the chicken was cooked perfectly, tender on the inside and slightly crispy on the outside, and not at all overcooked like I've had in the past in other places.
Side orders aren't included with a main but we both chose to share a boiled rice and a portion of Salt and Chilli Chips. The Salt and Chilli chips were a great choice as well, fluffy chips with a generous amount of salt and chilli seasoning, delicious! Overall, I can see why the Joy Inn came out top of our poll. The food was fresh, delicious and tasty and the staff were fantastically attentive and friendly.
