Manchester City host Newcastle United in the FA Cup on Saturday, so we simulated the clash to predict who will advance to the semi-finals
Manchester City's treble defence will continue on Saturday when Pep Guardiola's side take on Newcastle United in the FA Cup quarter-finals.
City have beaten Newcastle twice in the Premier League this season, but the Magpies managed to defeat Guardiola's side in the early stages of the Carabao Cup. City beat Luton Town 6-2 to set up the quarter-final clash, and the winners will make a trip to Wembley for the semi-finals in April.
City were in full control from minute one at the Etihad, with Newcastle barely seeing the ball in the opening quarter. The midfield battle was where City were winning the game and in the 28th minute it was a midfielder who put City ahead. City had a chance to make it 2-0 just before half time when a late challenge from Bruno Guimaraes brought down Erling Haaland in the box but the striker's penalty was poor, firing it straight at the 'keeper who didn't move. The second half played out the same as the first with City seeing all of the ball, and with 15 minutes to go, Haaland made up for his earlier miss by doubling the lead.
