'He was on the floor, they were trying to do CPR on him'
Neighbours on a quiet east Manchester estate have recalled the desperate attempts made to save a man who was 'hit by his own car'. Police believe 57-year-old Chris Hanley died on Olympic Street, in Beswick, after trying to stop his Land Rover being stolen on Saturday morning .
"First of all we were told it was a hit-and-run, and then they said somebody had tried to steal the car. It's just a traumatic situation." Multiple neighbours told the M.E.N. they did not recognise Chris or the Land Rover involved in the incident. A Holly Street resident added: "Nobody knew what had happened.
Another added: "It was a surprise. The whole area was sealed off with police tape, so we knew something bad had happened."
