Business schools: I know your institutions are under tremendous strain to determine a viable path forward. Remember that your programs are more than one of a set of postgraduate offerings: they are powerful upward mobility agents that facilitate tangible economic gains for women and POC. MBA programs expand the talent pipeline, propel women and POC in corporate leadership positions, and ultimately change the balance of power in the workplace.
Corporate leaders: continue practicing inclusive leadership Diversity is essential, especially in times of crisis. When the going gets tough, leaders often revert to unconscious bias, seeking affirmation from people like themselves. Having a diverse team in place prevents groupthink and facilitates the creative solutions businesses require during this difficult time. Remember that the pandemic is effecting different employees in different ways.
