UPDATE: Water main break floods across eight blocks in north Denver, submerging cars and forcing some residents from their homes by shellybradbury
Don Rossiter, who lives in the flooded area, said he noticed water gushing past his home on Perry Street at about 7 a.m. Within a few minutes, the water moved up into his yard, he said.
He went grocery shopping at 8 a.m. — the flood was nearly up to his front step then — and by the time he returned, the water had filled up to his porch. He didn’t think Sunday that the flood had made it into the first floor of his home, but expected the crawl space — and his furnace — were flooded.Rossiter planned to go to a restaurant and drink a couple beers Sunday afternoon, then see if the water receded enough for him to get back into his house.
