The latest show from “Yellowstone” creator Taylor Sheridan will be screened at this weekend’s Lone Star Film Festival in Fort Worth.

fans have a chance to watch the first two episodes of a new spinoff show ahead of its official premiere.tells the story of the first black Deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River. The anthology series, comes from creator Chad Feehan, “Yellowstone” boss Taylor Sheridan and star/executive producer David Oyelowo, who plays the titular real-life lawman.

“Bass Reeves” premieres on Paramount+ this Sunday, but fans can watch the first two episodes of the show early in Fort Worth on Saturday, courtesy of the“Bass Reeves” creator Chad Feehan and series director Christina Alexandra Voros will be at Saturday’s screening and participate in a Q&A session after.

Starring alongside Oyelowo is Lauren E. Banks, Demi Singleton, Forrest Goodluck, Barry Pepper, Donald Sutherland and Dennis Quaid. Additional guest stars include Shea Whigham, Garrett Hedlund and Mo Brings Plenty.The series is the latest show from Sheridan to hit the small screen for Paramount+, joining the two “Yellowstone” spinoff shows “1883” and “1923,” along with “Tulsa King,” “Mayor of Kingstown” and “Special Ops: Lioness.

As “Bass Reeves” gears up to premiere this weekend, only time will tell if characters from “1883” will pop-up in the new series.Beyond “Bass Reeves,” film fans have plenty to see over the festival’s four days. Five narrative feature films will screen in-competition at the festival, along with five feature documentaries.
